Live Your Best Life – Put First Things First and Get to Know Yourself
People
who have created lives they love and that work great have something in
common – they
know who they are. They’ve done the work to discover what
makes them the unique person they are and then they’ve courageously leveraged
their uniqueness to create a life of their choosing.
More important than your education or where you came from is the clarity
you have about yourself. Self-knowledge is priceless and something no
one can ever take from you.
Self-knowledge will help you create a strong foundation for your life.
Creating a strong personal foundation takes insight, patience and practice.
But if you stick with it, you will learn who you really are and perhaps
be able to finally answer the timeless question, “what on earth am I here
for?”
Here’s what you need to know in order to create a strong life foundation.
- Your
Dream/Vision
- Your
Unique Talents
- Your
Unique Passions
- Your
Personal Values
- How
each part of your life is working today; career, relationships with
family and friends, health, finances, fun and recreation, spirituality,
home and work environment
- Decision
on which part of your life you're going to focus on at any given moment
- Where
you get trapped easily; self-doubt, fear, low self-esteem, anger, depression,
etc.
- Your
Unique Life Purpose
Most of your knowledge
will come gradually, over time. But once you know what you’re looking for,
as you discover another new part of yourself you’ll know how it fits with
the other pieces. You’ll start noticing patterns in your life and you’ll
begin to see what you can leverage, over and over again, to create the life
you want.
In the future I’ll share with you how-to information and resources that
will assist you in discovering most of the items on the list above. In the
meantime, begin your search for self-knowledge by asking yourself what you
already know about each of items above.
