Hi There,
I decided to write this week's
message to you while
visiting my local coffee hot spot. Here I am on a
blustery October day, sipping a white hot cocoa,
listening to Frank Sinatra croon ballads throughout the
cafe and I realize this week I don't know what to write
about!
This rarely happens to me. In fact, I usually have so
many ideas zooming around in my head it's hard to
pick just one. But today is different. Today I feel
quieter, my mind is definitely quieter and I'm not being
pulled in a million directions.
Maybe I feel quieter because this morning I worked
out for 42 minutes on the elliptical machine. (Yes, I'm
proud of me too!) Or maybe life is quieter for me
because right now it's supposed to be quieter. And
maybe that means right now, in this moment, my only
real job is to LISTEN.
Listening...a very undervalued and underutilized
strategy when creating a life you love.
I see it happen all the time, when QUIET hits the first
thing we think we need to do is fill it up with MORE.
More activities. More busyness. More friends. More
shopping. More talking. More T.V. More food.
But what makes us think MORE will make our life
better? (And who said quiet was bad?) I don't
remember any wise sages give the advice if you do
more you'll be more. Have you? In fact, isn't "their"
advice the exact opposite? If we BE more, we'll be
able to do and have more?
We all want it: MORE. But
what if more isn't what's
really needed to create the life and business you most
want? What if the key to your success is to
LISTEN
more, rather than DO more? What if the best
thing you
could is to WAIT and BE STILL until you know, beyond
a shadow of a doubt, what to do next?
"Waiting" is an action...sometimes a very smart
action. So is stillness and pausing...and taking a
breather.
This week when you find yourself wanting or wishing
for more...take a closer look. Don't be in a rush
simply for the sake of having something to do.
Wait
until you KNOW what to do. You might find you
really
enjoy the stillness and realize you already have more
right in front of you than you thought.
OK, so I came up with something to write about!
When I get into the zone it usually just flows out
through my fingertips and that's exactly what
happened today.
Enjoy your weekend! I'm
heading to one of my favorite
places on earth, Minnesota's North Shore of Lake
Superior. I can't wait to say HI to the big lake and
breathe in the freshest, cleanest autumn air
Minnesota has to offer.
Bye for now...
Wishing you happiness and success,

Be Grateful
The cornucopia that is your life is full. In fact, it has the
potential to overflow with so much good fortune you
would never again have to worry about having enough.
How do you get your cornucopia overflowing? Be
grateful for what you have today.
Magic happens when you express your gratitude for
what you have today. That's because what you focus
on expands. If you focus on what you're lacking, you'll
notice more of what you lack. In fact, you will create
more lack. But, if you focus on your blessings, no
matter how small they seem today, you will begin
noticing more blessings. In fact, you will even create
more blessings.
If you're in a tough place right now it may not seem
possible to find something you can be grateful for but I
ask you to try. Start with simple but obvious things to
be grateful for such as your family, friends, kids, pets,
etc.
Each day find at least five things you can be grateful
for and write them down in a journal or notebook. Add
to your list each day and at the end of one week look
back over all your blessings. What do you notice? Did
it get easier with time? Were some days harder than
others? Were there days your whole life felt like one
big blessing? Did you start feeling better about your
life and your potential? As a person that is "blessed",
how do you view your future?
Be grateful for this life you have. Acknowledge your
blessings, even on days when it feels like none exist.
Shift your attention away from your worries and put
your attention on what is good about your life. There is
something, perhaps many things.
Expressing your gratitude on a daily basis is a simple
action that has the power to improve your life.
"Think about it. The more grateful people are for the
gifts we give them, the more inclined we are to give
them more gifts. Their gratitude and appreciation
reinforces our giving. The same principle holds as
true on a universal and spiritual level as it does on an
interpersonal level." -- Jack Canfield & Janet Switzer,
The Success Principles.

stillness
The magic happens in the pause before the reveal.
Stillness allows the magic.
Don't be in such a rush to get where you want to go.
Honor the stillness.
More is happening then you think.
