A Personal Note from Cari

Hi there ,

Here I am – a day late! My family and I returned from our vacation Wednesday and it’s taken me until now to get “caught up”. To the left you'll see a picture of all of us in Mexico, sipping a frozen margarita! (Pictured from left to right: my daughter, Kasie, is up front, then my husband Pete, I'm in the middle, my stepmom De is next and then you'll see my dad, Rod.)

We had a great time in So. Texas. Thank you to all of you native Texans that wrote me about your wonderful state. You do live in a beautiful part of the world.

While I was on vacation, even though busy most of the time, I had a little time to reflect. I am so grateful for the life I have today. I can remember when I struggled because I didn’t have a clear sense of who I was as a person. This became glaringly clear after I lost my mom seven years ago. After my mom passed I remember telling a friend that I had been so good being her daughter that I didn’t know who I was now that she was gone. It took me a lot of soul-searching and self-reflection to discover WHO I AM.

Today I feel my feet are firmly planted on the ground and I know, no matter what happens now, I will still have a sense of knowing who I am. Once you find IT, you’ll never lose it. I think discovering WHO YOU ARE is one of the greatest gifts you can give to yourself.

That’s what LifeOnTrack.com is all about – to help you discover WHO YOU ARE and to show you how to create a LIFE YOU LOVE. Over the last few years I’ve shared LOTS of tips on what you need to know and do to live your best, most amazing life. In the weeks, months and years to come I’ll share even more. I know I’m here on earth to inspire, encourage and teach others how to live well simply by being who they are naturally and doing what they love most. It can be done and that means YOU CAN do it!

This week I leave you with an inquiry and short tip. People always tell me I ask great questions. Well, you’ll find one of my favorite questions under the Featured Article section. I love this very simple question. I want you to really think about it and then write down your answers. Your answers are a clue to what it will take for you to live your best, most amazing life on a regular basis.

As always and with love...

Wishing you happiness and success,

A Very Good Question

What makes YOU happy?

I told you! A very simple question but your answers to this question will give you clues into your personality, preferences and things you can surround yourself with on a regular basis to ensure you lead a happy, feel good life.

Take out a blank sheet of paper, write the question above at the top of your blank sheet and then brainstorm a list of all the things that make you happy. Add to your list as you discover more things that make you happy.

Here's a list of what makes me feel happy:

*basset hounds, dachsunds and other quirky looking long dogs - they always make me smile
*fresh, colorful flowers
*simplicity
*family time just hanging out in the fresh air
*a really good movie
*sitting in a cafe listening to live music
*encouraging and inspiring people
*sending and receiving cards
*a flavorful meal, complete with the perfect wine
*a really good road trip on a sunny summer day
*time spent with my favorite friends
*open windows and fresh air

See! Your list is your list and the things on it will become a picture of what you need to have in your life to feel joyful on a regular basis.

Implement a practice in your life of looking for things that make you happy. The more you see, the happier you'll feel!

imagine....

being happy

"The best remedy for those who are afraid, lonely or unhappy is to go outside, somewhere where they can be quiet, alone with the heavens, nature and God. Because only then does one feel that all is as it should be and that God wishes to see people happy, amidst the simple beauty of nature." -- Anne Frank
