Happy New Year! Did you ring in the New Year with bells, whistles and boas or did you take a more laid back approach? Here's my daughter Kasie...I think you can see the style in which we greeted 2008! Uncanny resemblance to Elton John, don't you think? :)

I love this time of year. And it's beautiful in Minnesota right now. For the first time in many years we have LOTS of snow! Here's one more picture of where and how we celebrated the New Year. Beaches and palm trees are great...but you can't beat the peace, quiet and beauty of a north woods cabin.

Are you tired of starting the New Year with the same old goals as last year, goals that never seemed to manifest? How do I wish to FEEL about my life this year?

I was working with a client who was ready to make BIG changes in his life. As he sat across the table from me, looking beaten-down and worn-out, I asked him what his goals were for the New Year. He couldn't answer and I could tell; life had gotten the best of him.

Then I asked him, "How do you want to FEEL about your life this year?" He looked up at me and said, "I've never thought about how I want to feel about my life. I just do what I need to do and go from there." But he was willing to give my question a shot so he sat back, got comfortable and began expressing his desire to "feel good", "be happy", "be at peace", and "on track".

As he envisioned his life feeling "purposeful, happy, peaceful and on track", he began feeling better. He got a sparkle in his eyes. He sat straighter. As if by magic the life poured back into him when he realized honoring his desire to "feel good" was a smart strategy for creating a life of more purpose, freedom and profit.

What about you? How do you want to feel about YOUR life? And then what can you do to support that?

Your feelings, or emotions, are a very accurate and built in barometer of whether or not you're living your life in sync with your inner most self; the part of your SELF that isn't as concerned with what you do for doing's sake as it is in fulfilling your deeper life purpose.

If you live life without honoring your feelings, chances are you're not living the life God (The Universe, Higher Power) intends for you to live.

Listen, we all get stuck in our day-to-day obligations/to- do lists/and shoulds. But if we get stuck there long enough our life starts to feel empty and meaningless.

The things that make you happy make you happy for a reason. You are meant to lead a happy, joy-filled life!

If you are unsatisfied with your life in anyway, it means you are not on the right track. Period.

And that means there's really only one thing left to do: decide how you want to feel, start feeling it and get busy doing what you need to do to keep that feeling long term.

A life of more purpose, freedom and profit BEGINS when you start doing what makes you happy.

Think of your feelings as an ON/OFF switch. When you're turned OFF to your feelings, your life will feel dimmer, perhaps even dark. When you're turned ON to your feelings, your life will sparkle. In other words, your LIGHT will be on!

Enjoy and FEEL your life this year. Don't let your feelings play second fiddle to other demands in your life. Your feelings do matter. They are important. And they are very wise. Trust and follow your feelings and you'll be well on your way to creating a magical 2008!
